You would not see a single post from ANY reps explaining any reasons for the extended DT, it would just be.
So patch days, everyone used to plan to not raid or even bother to come online, as you knew even if you were lucky, you may get 1-2 hours at the end of an evening, but then the servers would come down for an emergency fix again to deal with a load of other code they had broken.

Oh yeah dude, EQ downtimes SUCKED SO HARD... Was like... come on seriously, server's not up yet and it's been 6 hours, which was a 2hour downtime to begin with
Ahh I fondly remember the market in EC tunnel. Shouting to sell my wares... I was a cheap street walker back then, now... I have class. I cost millions of isk instead of 100 Plat.

can't blame them, but sucks, I'm off for a fat pizza, lets hope up by then.
Offer that Pizza to the Dev's to get the servers up, they will force it to work, if they have to hand carry the code to your computer. Pizza is a devs soft spot (well.. Beer and Pizza, for CCP).
